Global warming is no longer a distant threat – it’s a present-day emergency. From rising temperatures and unpredictable weather patterns to shrinking ice caps and dying ecosystems, the effects of global warming are visible across every continent. But the world still has a chance to act – if we choose to act boldly and collectively.
🔥 What is Global Warming?
Global warming refers to the long-term rise in Earth’s average temperature, primarily caused by the buildup of greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide (CO₂), methane, and nitrous oxide in the atmosphere. These gases trap heat from the sun, much like a blanket, leading to a gradual warming of the planet.
The main sources of these emissions include:
- Burning fossil fuels (coal, oil, gas)
- Deforestation and land clearing
- Industrial processes and agriculture
- Waste and overconsumption
⚠️ Current Impact of Global Warming
The consequences of global warming are widespread and worsening:
- More frequent and intense heatwaves
- Rising sea levels, threatening coastal cities and island nations
- Melting glaciers and Arctic ice
- Extreme weather like hurricanes, floods, and droughts
- Food and water insecurity

These effects are not evenly felt — vulnerable and low-income communities often suffer the most, despite contributing the least to the crisis.

Global warming can still be slowed and even reversed — but only with strong, coordinated action across all levels of society.

- Empower local communities to take environmental action

The message is clear: inaction has a price — and it’s paid in lives, livelihoods, and the future of the planet.
